TIMES: March 28, 2003 Falcon Nominated For Top New Golf Course

The Grammy's, the Academy Awards, Best New Course in Canada. Well all right, so it is not as well known as the first two, but nonetheless for a golf course to win the award of Best New Course in Canada is significant.

Majority shareholder and President, Randall McCormick, was obviously proud of the recognition. "I am delighted that The Falcon has received such a prestigious nomination. Given its architecture, design, and setting, we always knew that we would be a candidate, in fact, it was one of our goals from the very beginning. Now having it made official certainly gives us satisfaction. Winning is another thing, we are up against some stiff competition in Ontario and the western provinces but we are honoured just to be there."

To be eligible for this years award a club must have opened between April 30, 2002 and May 1 of this year. The Falcon Golf Club located in Hudson opened its doors May 16th, 2002 and was therefore eligible for inclusion this year. The course was designed by Graham Cooke whose Fox Harbour Golf Course design in Wallace, Nova Scotia, won the award of Best New Course in Canada in 2001.

Phil Gribbin Director of Marketing at the Falcon Golf club said, "I have seen many new courses through my involvement in golf and I believe The Falcon has a legitimate shot at top honours. As an avid golfer myself I find the track both interesting and challenging, and of course, with its multiple tee deck positions anyone can adjust that challenge to their own game."

The nominated courses will be evaluated across Canada over the summer with the final results being known sometime in mid-December. And the winner is...
